Formal Business Meetings:

In Germany outdoor eating is very popular. Business meetings usually take place in restaurants. Germans enjoy having business meetings in restaurants with interesting conversations. They feel that eating together in restaurants makes people to understand each other well. They have certain formalities while having lunch or dinner.

• They wait till the host asks them to start the meal

• They do not rest their elbow on the table

• Both hands should be visible during the meal.

• They start with a wine or beer saying “good health”.

However in the UAE, business meetings are held formally in the office. The business partners meet in the office at the previously appointed time for the detailed discussion regarding business. Sometimes after the meeting is over, there is chance of dinner arranged within the office or at some restaurants. It is not compulsory.
